Brandi Yoko is a Graphic Design student. She was always artistic as a child, but wasn't sure where this would fit in as a career.
Just after graduating high school, Brandi picked up HTML as a hobby and decided that she would major in Web Design. After a few semesters with web design, she paused school and focused on her job at a theme park to build funds for what she would actually want to do as a career, which she wasn't sure was Web Design anymore. The purchase of a new computer gave her a free trial of Photoshop 8. She fell in love with what she could do with it. It was from here that she decided instead of just Web Design, maybe Graphic Design would be a better choice. Once in these classes, she felt like she was where she belonged, finally, and this was the correct path.
Brandi still does her own artwork outside of classes, though not as often as before due to time constraints, but ideas pop up all the time and she has a list of future projects to start.
Brandi comes from a family of artists, with the majority of her family having fantastic art skills, including scenic painting (think Bob Ross-ian), sketching, music skills, and extended family who are also graphic designers. Her brother owns and operates an online marketing consultant company, Yoko, Co.

While Brandi is still a student, she works on her own side projects as well as taking freelance work from her brother as well as friends and colleagues from work. She would love to expand her network and wants to hear from you.
My side projects include both traditional art and digital art. Most of my traditional art is experimenting with various mediums I have leftover from my Fundamentals of Design and Drawing I classes as well as items family and friends have given me over the years. This has included watercolor, acrylic paints, markers, pastels, oil pastels, and pencils. When I was younger, pastels and oil pastels were my medium of choice and I really loved seeing what I could do with them. Currently, though, I've tried more watercolor and acrylic, though when I get the watercolor to work, I really enjoy what I've created with it. That's something I'm still learning to work with. I usually use acrylic when I have a fully fleshed-out idea.
When it comes to digital art, my favorite program to use is Illustrator. I love making vector art and am working to become as skilled as I can with them.
Orlando Arocena (aka Mexifunk) is my career idol. When I have more free time (and hopefully a better graphics-dedicated computer), I'm trying to find a way to make work as detailed as his. Currently I mostly make what may be considered some pretty basic vectors compared to full-on professionals, but it is fun to play with.
Otherwise, Photoshop is obviously good for collage work, which is another thing I'm starting to try to play around with. Otherwise, I mostly use Photoshop to create and enhance different photos to use as my computer backgrounds and lock screens or just making random digital art using photos of my friends.
